Making an impact for future leaders!

Beyond the ordinary

Raised by a single mother on welfare amidst the 1960s riots in Chicago's Cabrini-Green projects, I learned early on what it means to be resilient. Despite a broken public school system trying to label me learning disabilities in first grade, my mother fought for my education, transferring me to a parochial school through church support. This decision changed my trajectory and allowed me to thrive.

Now a resident of Peoria, AZ since 1998, I honor the legacy of my late husband of 46 years and cherish time with my family. Driven by my journey, I am deeply passionate about education and community safety. I currently serve on the executive board of two educational nonprofits and the Peoria Citizens Police Academy Alumni.

I am running for West-MEC Governing Board because I believe career and technical education changes lives. West-MEC allows students to graduate with real-world skills, industry certifications, hands-on experience, and pathways to successful careers.

Guided by faith and grounded in family values, I believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed in a safe, supportive, and forward-thinking educational environment. Strong schools create strong communities, and West-MEC plays a vital role in preparing Arizona's future workforce.

We share the same goals

Our community depends on skilled professionals, and West-MEC continues to lead by preparing students for high-demand careers in healthcare, public safety, skilled trades, information technology, aviation, and advanced manufacturing.

I am committed to ensuring students have access to innovative programs that align with both student goals and workforce needs.
